About me
Jene’ Chapman is an Early Childhood Program Specialist with the Nebraska Department of Education’s Office of Early Childhood Training Center. She holds a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Study Elementary Education from Virginia State University and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. With over 20 years+ of experience as a parent, educator, administrator, and project lead, she is dedicated to advancing early childhood education. Jene’ collaborates with childcare providers, trainers, agencies and community leaders statewide and nationally while serving in a number of capacities. She co-developed the Nebraska CDA Roundtable, bringing together the workforce and partners locally and nationally to create a taskforce that streamlines and promotes equitable pathways for early childhood professionals to earn their Child Development Associate credential. From this roundtable with the collaboration of the Nebraska Extension Early Childhood and The Buffet Early Childhood Institute, Nebraska and the nation saw the development of the first CDA Navigator role, which provides extensive support to early educators and those who serve them, along with other structures that support candidates. As President of the NWRA board and a former member of the (J)EDI committee, she champions diversity and equity in workforce development. Throughout her career, Jene’ has been a passionate advocate for high-quality professional development, helping shape Nebraska’s early childhood training system and fostering collaboration among colleges, agencies, and organizations. Committed to her community and profession, Jene’ is a dedicated leader shaping the future of early childhood education.
