About me
Grant Torpin is currently a CTE teacher at Schuyler Central High School. He recently completed his 18th year in education, with experience as a classroom teacher, school administrator, and career academy coordinator. No matter the role, his focus has remained on creating authentic, real-world learning experiences for students.
His most recent undertaking is the Heart of Schuyler, a student-run gift shop located inside CHI Health Schuyler, developed through a unique partnership between the school and the local hospital. In this model, students take full ownership of business operations, including inventory, vendor relations, marketing, and financial reporting.
Grant’s background in both school leadership and the classroom allows him to design programs that are not only engaging for students, but also sustainable and scalable within a school system. His work emphasizes community partnerships, career readiness, and providing students with meaningful opportunities to apply their learning in real-world settings.
His programs have earned recognition at regional entrepreneurship competitions, and he is passionate about helping educators move beyond traditional instruction to create impactful, experience-driven learning environments.
