About me
Chuck Burr is a Nebraska Extension Water and Integrated Cropping Systems(WICS) Educator located in Alma, NE. He has been an Extension Educator in Nebraska since 1990. His Extension focus areas include water quality, limited water, irrigation management and cropping systems. Chuck received a B.S. and M.S. degree from UNL in Mechanized Agriculture. He was raised on a grain and livestock farm in Otoe County, NE. Chuck, Dr. Daran Rudnick and Dr. Matt Stockton started the UNL TAPS program in 2017. TAPS hosts in field farm management competitions and is now in 10 States. Chuck leads the VTAPS program which has developed high school level curriculum on irrigation and nitrogen management and hybrid selection. VTAPS includes a computer program that allows students to make weekly cropping system decisions and see the outcome in terms of yield, efficiency, and cost of production.
