Carol Kreutzer may be a “vintage” Family and Consumer Sciences educator but she is constantly on a quest to try new and different techniques to enhance her classroom. Kreutzer just finished her 16th year at Kearney High School and has an impressive 41-year career in education. She began her teaching stint at Sumner-Eddyville-Miller where she stayed 23 years followed by brief stops in Callaway and Overton. Carol has taught every subject in Family and Consumer Sciences at one time. She currently teaches three different levels of Foods/ Culinary classes, Introduction to Design, Housing and Interiors, and Clothing and Textiles. She is also the FCCLA adviser.
Kreutzer earned her BS at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She also has taken graduate classes at UNK. Kreutzer’s current school offers a 5-block day, but over the last four decades has experienced many other daily schedules.
Beyond the classroom, she is married and has three sons and a bonus daughter as well as 4 wonderful grandchildren.
