Beyond the Bet: The Economics of Gambling

In this session, participants will get a brief demo of all three Beyond the Bet: Economics of Gambling Lessons! Did you know that the average age a problem gambler is introduced to gambling is 10 years old? Educators, we need to start having conversations with our students about the perils of gambling! This curriculum is a nationally award winning peer-reviewed curriculum that is available to all educators at no cost. The lessons are interactive and offer an opportunity for teachers to have these conversations with their students in the academic setting.

Helping Students Evaluate Financial Advice Online

Students are exposed daily to financial “advice” on social media, ranging from investing tips and side hustles to credit hacks and cryptocurrency claims. But how do we help them distinguish credible information from hype, misinformation, or marketing? This session equips teachers with a practical, ready-to-use lesson and activities to teach students how to evaluate online financial content critically.
